Lemongrass Essential Oil

$9.00

Pure Lemongrass essential oil - Available in 10 ml and 30 ml size

INCI Name: Cymbopogon schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Leaf Oil

The oil comes from a fast-growing scented Indian grass that reaches heights of up to 1.5 m / 3 ft. In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, Lemongrass is used to help lower fever and calm the nervous system. Traditional Chinese medicine recommends Lemongrass oil to ease stomach pains and also to relieve headaches, colds and rheumatism. Because the plant and its essential oil have a strong lemony scent, they are both used to keep stinging insects at bay.

Steamed-distilled from the leaves, Lemongrass Essential Oil has a fresh, slightly earthy, but strong citrusy scent. Refreshing, rejuvenating, stimulating, and balancing, it is used to inspire creativity and improve mental clarity.

HOW TO USE

  • Lemongrass Essential Oil is known for its invigorating and antiseptic properties.
  • It can be used in facial toners for its astringent properties to help fight acne and oily skin.
  • An excellent anti-depressant, Lemongrass Essential Oil tones and fortifies the nervous system and can be used in baths for soothing muscular nerves and pain.

Lemongrass blends well with: Citronella, Patchouli, Pine, Thyme, Lavender, Rosemary, Marjoram, Cedarwood and Lemon.

Safety First: Citronella may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid it in baths or massage if you have sensitive skin or broken skin, or have allergic reactions to grasses and pollens. Avoid use if diagnosed with glaucoma or prostatic hyperplasia, or on children. Always dilute appropriately before applying to the skin. Do not use if pregnant or if taking medication without consulting with your health-care practitioner.

It is recommended that this essential oil be stored in dark amber, blue or green glass bottles since it has been found to dissolve aluminum bottles.
