Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil

$10.00

"Cinnamon Leaf Oil Ceylon". Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Leaf Oil is the volatile  oil obtained from the leaves of the Ceylon Cinnamon, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Lauraceae.

Distilled. Clear liquid yellow to dark brown.

An important ingredient in many natural perfumes. Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to man. It was valued in ancient Egypt not only as a medicine and for beverage flavoring but also as an embalming agent.
Cinnamomum verum originates from Sri Lanka. It is a tropical evergreen tree of the laurel family growing up to 15 m (45 feet) in the wild. The tree has a very thin smooth bark, with a light yellowish brown color and a highly fragrant odor. The spice from this tree has been more valuable than gold in its time.

Eugenol makes up 80 percent of the Cinnamon Essential Oil and provides potent antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Eugenol also causes Cinnamon Oil to have warming and stimulating properties making it a popular choice among aromatherapists.
A middle note of medium aroma, it has a warm, spicy scent between that of clove and cinnamon, but with herbaceous notes that are not sweet.

Blends Well With: Clove Bud, Lavender, Cedarwood, Orange, Lemon, Neroli, Ylang-ylang, Rosemary and Thyme.

Safety first: This oil is non-toxic and non-sensitizing. The oil can be a mild irritant: avoid it in baths or massage if you have sensitive skin. It is phototoxic : do not apply to the skin within 12 hours before exposure to the sun. Always dilute appropriately before applying to the skin. Do not use if pregnant or if taking medication without consulting with your health-care practitioner.
