Cedarwood Texas Essential Oil

$15.00

Pure Cedarwood Himalayan essential oil  - available in 10 ml.

INCI Name: Cedrus deodora (Cedarwood) Wood Oil

Cedarwood Himalayan Essential Oil, also called Tibetan Cedarwood, is grown extensively on the slopes of the Himalayas in Northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The ancient Egyptians used Cedarwood Oil for embalming, and in cosmetics and perfumery, and in India it is still used for its anti-fungal properties.

It is believed to have the following properties: antiseptic, anti-putrescent, anti-seborrheic, aphrodisiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucolytic, sedative, stimulant (circulatory), and tonic.

Steam distilled from wood, Cedarwood Himalayan has a dry, woody aroma, slightly camphoraceous, smoky, and balsamic with a very subtle hint of spice.

How to Use

Cedarwood’s anti-septic and deodorizing properties make it a useful oil for burning or diffusing. Its woody scent makes it popular in toiletries for men.

For a light aftershave oil for dry or irritated skin, add 1 drop of Cedarwood, 2 drops of Patchouli and 2 drops of Bergamot to 15 ml of Jojoba oil and apply a few drops to the wet face and pat dry.

To help improve the condition of the scalp and encourage healthy hair, add 3 drops each of Cedarwood and Rosemary to 10 ml of Coconut Oil (or 5 ml Coconut and 5 ml Wheat Germ Oil for very dry hair) and massage thoroughly into the scalp. Leave for as long as possible before shampooing out. A few drops can also be used as a hair and beard oil.

Cedarwood Himalayan blends well with: Citrus essential oils, giving them a base note that complements them well. It also works well with Rosemary, Chamomile, Eucalyptus and many more, as woody oils tend to blend well with the other categories.

Safety First: Non-toxic, non-irritant. Avoid during pregnancy. Always dilute appropriately before applying to the skin. Do not use if pregnant or if taking medication without consulting with your health-care practitioner.
