This invigoratingly fresh Essential Oil is cold-pressed from Pink Grapefruit grown south of the border in sunny Mexico. The fruit of this large tree with large white blossoms is the basis for this thin peach-coloured oil that enhances the scent of other citrus oils. It has a middle note with medium strength that brightens blends of herbal and spicy oils. The Grapefruit (Pink) Essential Oil has a fresh, sweet citrus smell that is very characteristic of the fruit.
Its bright aroma is believed by aromatherapists to be energizing and a spiritual up-lifter. It is also used with congested, oily and acne-prone skin, and it is added to creams and lotions as a natural toner in the treatment of cellulite. Grapefruit Essential Oil is reputed to comfort nervous exhaustion, soothe depression, and relieve muscle fatigue and stiffness.
The differences between the White and Pink Grapefruit are minor. More Pink Grapefruit is produced because it is sweeter than the White variety.
HOW TO USE:
Mix 3 drops with a teaspoon of face cream and a teaspoon of cornmeal for a moisturizing exfoliant that is especially good for troubled skin.
To help relieve depression and lift dark moods, vaporize 4 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil and 4 drops Geranium Essential Oil.
Adding a drop or two of Grapefruit Essential Oil to the shampoo bottle will result in a lustrous shine in one's hair. It has also been shown to help eliminate oily scalps and other skin and hair conditions.
Blended with Tea Tree and added to Witch Hazel, Pink Grapefruit makes an excellent toner for those combatting acne.
Add a few drops to the rinse water when washing out the fridge, cupboards, or counter to help keep germs at bay while adding a touch of sunshine to kitchen chores.
A few drops in a diffuser will help to make guests feel welcome.
Finally, the scent of Pink Grapefruit in an inhaler may help lift fatigue when working late or studying.
